                       Pattern and Print

Any copying, distribution or use of images on this site is a  copyright violation and unlawful.

This post is all about pattern and print on paper, on fabric, on product and about images that could be repeated to create pattern..............

Below are pieces from my signature scarf line created for B & B, a company in NYC which also produced scarves for haute couture designers' ready-to-wear lines. They had been a client where I had been a package designer. After the 'box company' closed, in an attempt to pick up free lance, I sent the promotional illustration piece 'Lady with a Scarf' (see my illustration posting)

Note: These 'vintage' designs were done in the traditional way, i.e., a quarter section was drawn and painted by hand with the alternate palettes being coordinated in my head and only Pantone swatches as a guide for the vendor. The colors on silk have faded in part with time.

***These are non-professional photos (obviously) with varying degrees of clarity procured from various sources as I do not own most of the scarves.

                                                                  and a  blue version....

Same design as above, different palette, i.e, lavender, plum, lime, yellow.......

This design is shown in a pink/aqua palette below. As mentioned above, one of the disadvantages I had at the time these were created was picking palettes in my head. We had no CAD and there was no opportunity to 'tweak' color. For example, I would have liked to have softened the deepest pink.

Same design as above, different palette........i.e., blue/peach
